My great great grandparents came to Oklahoma in 1900, starting the town of Hitchcock. Will, my great grandfather and his wife, Eva bought land and homesteaded at the base of the far right mesa. He named Wine Glass Ranch, built the "upper" ranch house in 1906 and put together the acreage that at one point totalled 8000 acres. Known as the best horseman in Oklahoma, he died sitting peacefully on a hay bale near the barn and horses he loved.
