According to Danish spidsgatter expert and a long time member of the very active Copenhagen Amateur Sail Club (KAS in Danish, http://smhavn.dk/con11.php4) there are 52 spidsgatters moored in Svonemollen harbor in Copenhagen. I was lucky to visit and see three yesterday and got to sail on Bel Ami (S38 D1) in a friendly fleet of classics including three spidsgatters, Bel Ami, Ursa and Bombus. The sailing club has been in existence for more than 100 years (more details in another post) and currently teaches sailing to adults, year round from a fleet of early spidsgatter gaffers moored close together and in beautiful condition near the clubhouse. Today, members of KAS cruise to Sweden. This very active club is a must stop for anyone visiting Copenhagen.
