Malama pono: From Kaua'i

Spring snow

This always struck me as an oxymoron, not being from the mountains or northern climates. Sure enough, it's reality, even in temperate Port Townsend.  This morning the sunrise featured broken clouds and hints of warmth in a rosier pink than normal.  At first, I didn't realize, wanted to deny, it had snowed!  A walk around the yard confirmed though, it'll be gone by lunch.  Enjoy the photo.  It's likely the last snow at our house and spring is just around the corner.

Happy Heart, Happy Valentines

Valentine Bouquet 06This was a wonderful Valentine's Day.  Roses inside.  Christmas Rhody in bloom outside.  Mt. Baker pink in the distance. The days getting longer and a surprise opening for a late arranged dinner.  When the heart is happy, the rest of life reflects the beauty.
